Email Marketing Passes Traditional Direct Marketing
The CIM reports that the amount of direct marketing via email has overtaken direct mail volumes for the first time. The number of marketing emails rose by 50% in the last quarter of 2006, and volumes are expected to increase further. Its popularity is put down to improved targeting, the ability to measure response rates more accurately, as well as the ability to integrate email with other marketing channels.
